| Before moving to California
in May of 1996, Donna was a lifelong resident of Texas. She attended Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in
Foreign Languages with a minor in International Business. After college,
Donna worked as a liaison for an import/export company located at the Dallas
World Trade Center. She then worked as a technical writer for a telecommunications
company. Following that, she was hired for her French, Spanish, and Italian language capabilities and spent 7 years as a planning analyst for semiconductor manufacturer SGS-Thomson. After the birth of her daughter, Katie, who is now 7 years old, Donna decided to stay home to concentrate on the important job of parenting. During this time, she volunteered as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL) to hispanic and japanese immigrants. After a couple of years as a homemaker, Donna worked as a part-time semiconductor planning analyst for Cyrix Corp, a developer of microprocessors chips. Donna moved to the bay area, when her husband of 10 years, David, accepted a job at the MIPS Division of Silicon Graphics (now a seperate company, MIPS Technologies Inc.). Donna and her family now reside in the Los Gatos area. As a concerned citizen, Donna became involved in working with various agencies in Santa Clara county. A member of the Northern California Graffiti Task Force, Donna moved to bring about the participation of the Valley Transit Authority and waste removal companies such as Green Team and Waste Management; since bus stops and trash bins within apartment complexs are frequent targets of anti-social behavior like graffiti. She also served as Public Relations adviser for the Art Docents of Los Gatos, a volunteer organization that works to enhance art education in the Los Gatos schools, mostly through volunteer teaching. She is now their Vice President for fundraising. More recently, Donna was elected President of the Silicon Valley Taxpayers Association (formerly the Santa Clara Counter Taxpayers Association), where she works to fight abusive and wasteful tax measures. She has also been very involved with the Association of Republican Women holds the position of Vice President in that organization. A commited Christian, she attends the First Baptist Community Church
in Monte Sereno.
